If you go somewhere, you're almost guaranteed to see a business card or flier for something. How many times have you picked up or been handed a flier and just looked at it, and not really even seen any of the information? I know when someone hands me a plain old flier, I say "thanks" and then 30 seconds later it hits the ground. It's never eye catching in any way.
Business cards will at least make it into my pocket, only to be seen again when I'm cleaning out my pockets to do my laundry. Like the fliers, it gets filed under "G" for "garbage."
Only a few times have I ever kept a business card, and I didn't even need the service. It was just a cool card.

I can't even begin to tell you how many tattoo artists have given me their card. 99.9% of them get trashed. I've gotten a total of TWO business cards from tattoo artists that I've kept. The first one had really good art work on it to begin with, and it had some spot UV coating on it that made the art work pop.
The other one was a foil process card that the artist had done through us here at Cat5ive Print.
Once side of the card was entirely foil process, and the other side had it in certain spots. It really made the whole thing super eye catching. He could've simply just done a normal 12 point full color card, and if it were handed to me, I would've noticed the artwork and that would've been it. Because of the foil I'm actually going to see him tonight to get a tattoo.
