Our client came to us with an unusual design, but Cat5ive Print had the tools to do it. We recreated an imitation of the iconic Centurion Black Card on 30mil silver plastic business cards. We utilized embossed numbering without using it as sequential for the phone number, name, and expiration date. The back continues this look by using a nonfunctional barcode strip and signature panel. These cards came out identical to the vision and the legendary Black Card. People will be sure to keep this in their wallets, even if its just for the outstanding craftsmanship.

At Cat5ive Print, we think a gift card should be designed so well that it alone has value. We created a 30mil plastic card with spot uv and a silk finish. The silk finish has an elegant and smooth texture which is complimented by the spot uv's modern appeal. A gift card holder was also created to house the card. It is a 12pt uncoated stock that was scored for folding and die cut to hold the gift card. Even after these have exhausted their monetary value, clients will cling to them.

Many of you already know who cigar man is, but for those of you who do not know….. Cigar Man is a gentleman that has started a large debate on where or not he was photo shopped into a picture at a gold tournament with Tiger Woods. Oh, if you haven’t seen, there is a shoot of a golf ball that was hit by tiger Woods, and the golf ball is coming right at the camera lens.

 Well anyways, it appears that Cigar Man is rather found of Cat5ive Print products. It is rumored that the Silk Squared and Spot UV are his top picks. There is even talks about a cigar man business card, but don’t hold me to it. You know how talk around the “water cooler” is so unreliable. I mean really, sometimes it’s true and sometimes it’s not. We will just have to see what the future of Cat5ive Print has in store for Cigar Man,

A more recent coworker was getting cards made for the very first time. Which is always exciting, especially for the designer that is creating them. Anyways the designer and the coworker collaborated and came up with an amazing design. Thanks to the ability if the designer to grasp the coworkers personality and dream for her card, they came up with a purple and black card. This Card has purple foil, black ink, and Spot Glitter on the card. The Spot Glitter was used to highlight an aspect of the design and create a star light backdrop on the card.

It is such an anticipate card. It went to print on the 17^th and takes about 2 weeks to be printed. Once it’s printed, everyone is going to want to see this new idea of a card. So be on the lookout for the pictures that are going to be up soon to show off this new technique.

Cat5ive Print’s new look is almost complete. The site is finished and is in the process of being tested to make sure that every single object on the new site works perfect. It’s funny how in the graphing design field you can take a design from someone and play with it in Photoshop and make it look perfect.
However!!!! Even an experience designer can make a printing foul. When we get cards in or printed designs we look at them under a Loop. Which is a great tool. It’s kind of like a high power magnifier. You can take the text of something, place it under and seem if it’s printed a smoothly as it looks. Designing things isn’t just about how things look to the eye but it’s also about the actual quality of the work, and that’s what Cat5ive Print is all about.

So as I am sure you have read we have some new blood in the water. Our designer Matt was just so thrilled with all the products that we could do. With that said, when he became official we had him design and print his own card. Now Matt could not decide between wood and silk squared. So what does the talented designer do……? He does both. He took wood grain and made it the background on a silk squared cards. So here it is ladies and gentlemen, Matt’s Silk Squared card!!!!

Ruby is a 2 and 1/2 year old boxer and belongs to the owner. Every day she comes in to work and trots around the office. She has kind of been the unofficial mascot of Lucie Design.
