So you want something a little different for your business card? Well… we have what you're looking for. This business card and printing style is called Spot UV. We print your full color image/design on the card stock and then hit it with a Spot UV, liquid gloss only in the area's you want to highlight. Our designers look at Spot UV as another color to your business card, so we like to make designs or patterns with it to lay over the top of your artwork. See the example of our sample spot uv business card on 14pt matte paper.
This is a great example of a half page flyer/postcard on 16pt matte. Half page size is 5.5" x 8.5". We also did the graphic design for this piece.
This is a 16pt Matte Finish with Spot UV business card. The designer used a blue gradient on the back with the logo printed with the spot uv.
Why do we like 16pt think business cards? Is it because they are firm and make you feel confident when handing them out. Is it because throwing them down on the table with authority is fun, or is it because they are durable and out-live thinner, weaker cards. In these recession days business owners need to make wise investments that yield great results. Don't sell yourself short with a cheap or FREE business card. What does that say about you. Invest in your first impression with a THICK and brilliant business card from Cat5ive Print.
It's time to roll out some new printing techniques for our cool business card line up. Today it's the Glitter Business Card. Yes… I said GLITTER. Here is how it works: We print your full color image on matte or silk stock and then apply the area you've reserved for Glitter with our special secret glitter coating. This added feature will add depth and texture to your card and will highlight any area of the business card with cool reflective flake. The glitter is sealed within the coating so it will not flake off. Call us for pricing as we are working to add to the shopping cart of the website. 561-429-6131
Here's a nice simple business card. It's a 16PT matte finish business card. It's the thickest paper stock we offer and one of my personal favorites. It just feels damn good in the hand. I prefer the matte over the UV coating personally but that's always up to you. We even offer UV coating on one side only if you're undecided! WOW!
Recently we were contacted by a company who wanted to have their business cards reprinted. No problem there. However, when we received the sample of what they wanted, along with what they were looking to spend we knew that the two wouldn't match up. It's an unfortunate situation but it does come up.
I was able to give them a price for the cards based on exactly what they wanted and, as predicted it was too high. No fear though! Here at Cat5ive Print Full Colour Printing our goal is to get the customer something that will make them happy. I showed them our Spot Metallic Silver cards with a matte finish and they absolutely loved them the concept.
The spot silver metallic ink in place of the foil stamping worked out perfectly and was a much much cheaper option compared to the stamping.
Bottom line here is that occasionally you may need to change the options on what you want to find a price that agrees with you, but this doesn't at all mean you have to sacrifice the design or quality of your business card.

Today's lesson in business cards is about… wait for it… SPOT UV!!!
While it's not the most shiny of the printing treatments, it's still incredibly awesome looking and serves its purpose very well. Say you're a photographer and you want your business card to include a couple of small photos on your card. Foil process won't be a good choice for that, really. It COULD be done, but it wouldn't really get the point across. What you want to do is spot UV. Basically what you end up with is a matte business card, with glossy spots on it. These glossy spots will draw people's attention to the photos, assuming we are still going with the photographer example.
Of course you don't have to go with that specific example. You can do the spot UV treatment on just the text, your name or a plain old spot UV design with no real picture or anything behind it. It's a little easier to get away with fun tricks with the spot UV coating than some of the other treatments like foil stamping.
You don't have to go with just the special SPOT UV on the cards either. You could always just go with a high gloss, full UV coat on the card, or UV on either the front or back. This comes in handy as the UV coating can't be written on with a normal pen. If you need to write on the back of your card, but still want the glossy finish, this is perfect for you, actually. You'll still have the full gloss front of the card with the ability to write appointments, etc. on the back. It's a multi-functional business card!!
It's hard to see in this photo, but the girl has the spot UV coating, and you'll notice it says "price: date: time" next to her. That part is un-coated and can be written on.
